Year of the Horse - Running with Asian Trail Mix - February 2026

I've been running with Asian Trail Mix for three years now. My first Asian Trail Mix event that I attended was this very one back during the Year of the Rabbit in 2023. I vividly remember being blown away by the sheer number of volunteers that contributed to the event. As we go into in year of the horse, I'm quite glad that the run club has remained rooted in community driven trail running culture and action.

An event like this doesn't happen overnight, volunteers are organized and delegated to prepared to work on specific tasks. Plans are finalized months in advance.

This year's route was unique. After a heavy snowfall and weeks of sub-zero temperatures. The trails in Central Park were still very frosty, icy, and unsafe to run. The route that the pacers took hit three photo locations where horses could be found.

It isn't an Asian Trail Mix event without the trail mix. For this event, food was provided from a renowned Chinese eatery and drinks were provided from local micro-beverage companies.
